Three Wonders, known in Japan as Wonder 3, was developed and published by Capcom on CPS-1 hardware, released in arcades in July 1991 as an unusual multi-game cabinet offering players a choice between three entirely different games on a single board. Midnight Wanderers: Quest for the Chariot is a fantasy action-platformer following a hobbit-like hero and his companion battling to save their people from being turned to stone; Chariot: Adventure through the Sky is a horizontally scrolling shoot ’em up in the vein of Gradius, letting players fly a customizable fantasy airship through aerial stages; and Don’t Pull is a block-pushing puzzle game starring a rabbit and a squirrel, closer in spirit to Pengo than to the other two included games. Bundling three distinct genres onto one cabinet was a rare approach even by Capcom’s own experimental standards of the era, giving arcade operators unusual flexibility and giving players genuine variety from a single machine, and the compilation has since been preserved together in several official Capcom arcade collections.
