Capcom released Final Fight 3 for the Super Nintendo in 1995, the last game in the main series and the most technically ambitious. After the Mad Gear gang’s defeat, a new criminal group called the Skull Cross takes over Metro City, and Guy returns alongside Mike Haggar to stop them. They are joined by two new fighters: Lucia, a police detective with fast kicks, and Dean, a street fighter who uses electrical attacks. The combat system is much deeper than before, with dash attacks, command moves and a super meter that powers special attacks when full. Some stages branch, letting the player choose different routes through the city, and there are multiple endings. A second player can join at any time, and when playing alone the player can choose to fight alongside a computer-controlled partner, a rare feature for the genre.
