About Axelay
Axelay is a 1992 space shoot-’em-up developed and published by Konami for the Super Nintendo, first released in Japan before an international release followed after fan demand. Set in the fictional Illis star system under attack by the ‘Armada of Annihilation,’ players pilot the D117B fighter craft through a mix of vertical and horizontal scrolling stages to recover lost weaponry and repel the invasion. The game is especially remembered for its vertical stages, which use the SNES’s Mode 7 graphics to give the scrolling background a striking illusion of depth.
Controls are usually keyboard based natively or touch if on mobile. No download required.
