Super Conflict is a turn-based military wargame developed by Manley & Associates and published by Vic Tokai, released in North America in March 1993 as the 16-bit successor to the earlier NES game Conflict. Play takes place on hex maps where each side fields infantry, armour, artillery, helicopters, aircraft and naval vessels, and every unit type has its own movement allowance, attack range and terrain preferences. Victory usually means destroying the enemy Flag Tank or Flag Ship rather than wiping out an entire army, which rewards flanking and concentrated strikes over slow attrition. Players command either United States or Soviet forces across theatres modelled on real-world flashpoints, and the package is unusually generous for a console wargame of the era: more than fifty single-player scenarios plus sixteen designed for two players sharing a controller. The presentation is spartan, but for SNES owners who wanted genuine hex-and-counter strategy rather than a tactical RPG, it was one of the few options available.
