World Heroes Perfect

Introduction

World Heroes Perfect was developed by ADK in conjunction with SNK, released for the Neo Geo MVS arcade system on May 25, 1995, as the fourth and final entry in the World Heroes fighting game series. The game compiled the largest roster in series history by combining nearly every playable character introduced across the three previous World Heroes games into a single definitive edition, alongside new stages, rebalanced mechanics, and a new “Deathmatch” mode that added stage-specific environmental hazards absent from earlier entries. Its premise remained the same historical crossover conceit that had defined the series since the original World Heroes: a mysterious organization pulls fighters from different eras and cultures throughout history into a single tournament, pitting samurai against Vikings, boxers against ninjas, in a roster deliberately built around clashing time periods and fighting styles. As ADK and SNK’s way of closing out the series on its most complete and polished note, World Heroes Perfect is generally regarded by longtime fans as the definitive version of the World Heroes formula, even as it never achieved the same lasting popularity as SNK’s flagship Fatal Fury and King of Fighters series.
