The Second Samurai is a 1994 Sega Genesis and Amiga beat-’em-up/platformer hybrid developed by Vivid Image and published by Psygnosis, serving as the sequel to 1991’s First Samurai. Like its predecessor, it sends players through feudal Japan alongside prehistoric and futuristic settings, combining action and platforming across its levels, with a two-player mode for co-op play. Losing a life brings up the taunting Demon King from the first game, delivering sarcastic lines like ‘Give up mortal!’ until the final ‘Game Over!’
